A controversial review late in Saturday’s Showdown that awarded Josh Jenkins a goal when many thought it hit the post continues to divide commentators as it has been reported that the post is still wobbling.
The post still shaking 16 hours after the dubious decision fuels the theory that it may have hit the post, and the decision should’ve been overturned and called a behind.
AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan addressed the reports earlier today.
“The one camera angle that was looked at by the reviewer didn’t show any conclusive evidence of the ball hitting the post, so I still refuse to believe that it was a behind.
“It was pretty windy in Adelaide yesterday so maybe that’s why the post is still shaking,” said McLachlan.
Port Adelaide coach Ken Hinkley also spoke to the media today, demanding the call be overturned while holding a handful of straws and clutching at them.
