Social Basketball Team’s Finals Chances In Doubt As Teammate’s Girlfriend Has Plans

The Banter Squad, a C Grade social basketball team made up of university students and part time workers from the suburbs of Adelaide, will be facing it’s biggest test yet this Tuesday night when they play a must-win game against the ‘Ninjas in Paris’ in order to cement their spot in this years finals.

Having previously beat the fifth placed team 20-0 (due to a forfeit as the game fell on one of the Ninjas’ birthday piss-up), the Banter Squad is unsure what to expect from their upcoming opponents who sit one spot above them on the ladder thanks to a greater percentage. One thing they can expect though is a 10-point handicap against them, as the only team member’s girlfriend has selfishly decided to arrange dinner plans with friends instead of scoring the game, leaving the boys with no other option but to cop the penalty.

The mid-table blockbuster will be the last game of the season for the losing side, with the winning team locking in fifth spot and scraping in to the finals which are set to commence the following week.

With a season average score of 14.2 points per game, The Banter Sqaud can only hope that the Ninjas in Paris are also unable to find a scorer in order to put the match on level playing terms.
